Descriptions

We calculated the permeability of porous olivine aggregates produced through the experimental dehydration of serpentinite. The segmented micro-computed tomography results from Eberhard et al., 2025 (DOI: https://doi.org/10.24416/UU01-WW5PS8) were analyzed by taking subvolumes of increasing size from the porous olivine aggregates. The sampling algorithm is provided in the Scripts folder of this repository. Scripts used to analyze the microstructural properties (porosity, curvature, etc.) are provided along with associated figure plotting scripts in the Figures folder of this repository. Permeability of all subvolumes was calculated using the GPU-accelerated FEM-modeling software provided by Lopes et al., 2023 (DOI: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.commatsci.2023.112021; gitlab address: https://gitlab.com/cortezpedro/chfem_gpu). The raw outputs of these calculations are provided in the Data folder of this repository. The data and results presented in this repository supported the publication of Menzel et al., 2025 (DOI: https://doi.org/10.1007/s00410-025-02221-9).
