Descriptions

The ILIHA (Iberian Lithosphere Heterogeneity and Anisotropy) Project was designed to be a large-scale test for vertical and lateral heterogeneity and seismic anisotropy in the subcrustal lithosphere over the Variscan domain of the Iberian Peninsula. It consists of a star-shaped arrangement of six long-range deep seismic sounding profiles, acquired in 1989.
Ten shots were fired offshore with charges between 500 and 1000 kg. Five land shot (lang quarry blasts) were fired in two points (G and P).
